AFTER NEAR 25 YEARS IN SERVICE, the former Chief Executive Officer of Blackburn-based Tensar International, Jim Paul, passed away on Wednesday 25th June aged 59.
He joined the company in 1982 (at that time trading as Netlon Ltd) and during his appointment in several senior positions he became a well liked, respected and indispensable figurehead within The Group.
Jim’s expertise was instrumental in positioning Tensar as the global market leader within its field and in 2004 he assumed the role of CEO. In the same year received a coveted industry accolade from The International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) for his dedication and deliverance during his service, which he deservingly received with great pride.
“It is difficult to do Jim justice on both a professional and personal level in so few words,” says Tensar International’s Chief Engineer, Chris Jenner, who has worked alongside Jim for many years. “Aside from being a pleasure to work with, he was a geotechnical mastermind and his passion for the profession was evident in everything he put his mind to at Tensar.
“It goes without saying that our thoughts are with his widow Kathleen and their two sons at this exceptionally sad time. On behalf of everyone at Tensar I pay tribute to a man who was much loved and admired across the industry.”
